Meet Shikha Patel

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Trauma and Ecotherapist

Founder of Collaborative InSights

Welcome to my small but meaningful corner of the web! My name is Shikha Patel (she/her), and I’m deeply honored to practice my passion as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Trauma Therapist, and Ecotherapist.

With extensive experience in non-profit program development, I honed my clinical expertise while working with the University of Pennsylvania’s behavioral health and trauma programs. I also teach graduate courses at Rutgers University School of Social Work, specializing in social work with immigrants and refugees—an area close to my heart.

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Ecotherapy. These tools allow me to support clients in navigating trauma and finding healing through both traditional therapy and nature-based approaches.

My heritage is rooted in India, and as a second-generation immigrant, I have a deep, personal connection to holistic healing traditions. These practices have been a guiding force in my life, shaping my path in profound ways.

I made the move from New Jersey to North Carolina with a clear intention: to share these healing traditions with others in an educational, experiential, and decolonized way. I believe in the power of bringing practices back to their original, authentic form and offering them to communities in a way that honors their true essence.

This is why I offer culturally informed – individual and group therapy – to reconnect people with these time-honored practices, fostering healing, growth, and transformation for all.

Beyond individual and group therapy, I’m passionate about expanding mental health education through consultation. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with organizations like Duke Energy, Wonder Academy, Carolina Farm Trust, and Yale University to advance mental health awareness and create supportive environments. These partnerships allow me to integrate wellness strategies into corporate and educational frameworks, helping reduce stigma and promote healthier spaces.

I also serve on the advisory boards of several non-profits, where I help shape initiatives that improve access to mental health care for underserved communities. For me, consultation is a powerful way to drive lasting, systemic change and support well-being on a broader scale.

I offer in-person therapy and wellness support in Charlotte, NC, and I'm also licensed to provide telehealth sessions to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, and New Jersey. Please contact me to schedule a free consultation about therapy or consultation services.
